{in the picture} november linky party

Greetings all! Gosh, I feel like each month I'm writing fewer and fewer posts for the blog and the content is getting shorter and more sparse. Sorry about that! But hey, at least I'm here hosting our self-portrait linky party for November. I'll take the small wins at this point. Can you believe our year together is almost over? We've dwindled down to a small but lovely group from our first linky party back in January when we had 94 participants!! I attribute that to the New Year's resolution effect :)

So, our theme for this month was "I Am Grateful". I immediately thought that I'd take a selfie with my favorite girl Willow. Unfortunately I didn't get to set up the shot I originally had in mind, but I did turn the iPhone camera on us the other day when we actually had a little snow here in NYC...I love the little flakes melting on her snout...

Not my usual style of unrecognizable, whispy figures, layering and lots of apps, but a nice everyday, arm's length shot of me and my best girl. I am so grateful for every moment I have with her--she makes my days soooo happy!!

OK, it's your turn to share what you are grateful for--I can't wait to see how you incorporated the theme into this month's self-portrait. Or if you didn't go with the theme this month, feel free to share any self-portrait that you took.

As a reminder...here are our usual linky rules:
  • Please link back to the permalink for your {In The Picture} blog post or flickr image, not just the general url for your blog or flickr stream.
  • Linked entries must be to a blog post or flickr image of your recent self-portraits, not just any old photo. Your photo does not have to relate to the optional monthly theme, but it does need to be a self-portrait. Links will be moderated and removed if they do not comply with this rule, sorry :)
  • Please do link back here to my blog either through a text link, or with my button found below to help encourage others to participate and add to our group.
  • And most importantly, be the encouragement you hope to receive and help build our self-portrait community! Please try to visit a few of the links of your fellow {In The Picture} participants and leave a nice comment--it only takes a few minutes and you may be inspired by what you see :)
OK that's it. The linky will stay open until Thursday, December 6th. If you are new here, you can get caught up on this page. Why don't you join us for our final month?

P.S. I'm not sure if I am going to do this project again in 2013. I will certainly still be taking my own self-portraits (I'm addicted!) but it's become a bit too much work to keep up this amazing community on the blog here with all you fabulous ladies. I am open to possibly keeping the flickr group going, and maybe even doing monthly themes over there instead of here. What do you think? Let me know in the comments today.

Love the pictures of you and your special girl and the melting snowflakes!
Thank you for hosting this year-long project. I don't know if I feel like continuing in 2013, but the possibility of keeping the flickr group going sounds like a good one that many people will surely be happy about!

I believe it is so important for us to be photographed with the ones we love, and our furry friends certainly give us so much unconditional love. Both shots of yours are precious, and hopefully you'll get the shot you originally envisioned.
Thank you for leading up this challenge - I've really enjoyed it and plan to continue next year, whatever format / medium is used.

She is a sweet heart and I love that photo with her snout and snowflakes. I know exactly what you mean about the joy and constant love they bring to our world.

Thank you again for hosting this monthly meme. This was my first year and I think I started with the June planking challenge. I'm addicted now too so would definitely contribute to the flickr group.

However it works out ... most importantly is that we focus our time on what we love to do. And if our roads meet along the way, well then:)

This is so different from your usual style, but wonderful in its own way. So sweet! I've really enjoyed doing this selfie project and have come such a long way since January! Thanks so much, Christy!

Willow! oh yes and you. I'm so glad your dear friend has stayed healthy. Amazing what our pets do for us.
I'd do Flickr-in fact I'm having better luck keeping up with that lately than blogging. I'd also do this linky again if you have a surge of desire to keep it going. I know it must be a lot of work and thanks for keeping us rolling all year long.

Especially like the second image - you two cropped, candid, B&W, in the moment - perfect!
Happy day, Christy :)

Wonderful photos of you and your dear friend! Christy, I'm grateful to you for hosting this challenge all year long. About this time last year, I contemplated shooting one photo of myself every day for a year, just a sort of mug shot to track the changes I knew were coming in my life. Then I reduced my goal to one a week. That didn't last long, either. But, thanks to you, I have at least done one self-portrait shoot a month, and they've been more than just mug shots. I will understand if you choose not to do {in the picture} again next year, but I just wanted to say thanks - for this year of inspiration and discipline.

I enjoyed this self portrait adventure with you and {in the picture}. It was a part of self discovery for me this past year and that is a good thing! Should you decide to move forward with it, I would love to participate again. I apologize for missing some recent linky parties! Those are always fun! Your featured artists were very inspiring as is your own work. I would like to see the flickr group stay active. I enjoy self portraits and will continue taking them and learning from and with them!
Thank you for a fun and inspiring year {in the picture}
Happy Holidays!
xo,
Linda

Love your selfies here with Willow. Gorgeous. Thank you so much for hosting this year - I hadn't done any self portraits this time last year and signed up with great trepidation but here I am with one month to go. I wouldn't have started or continued without this project, thank you for all your hard work. Keeping a flickr group open would be great.:)
