{texture tuesday}

If you've been by here lately you know I've been a little obsessed with self-portraits this year. And my iPhone. So to change things up a bit I decided to pull out the DSLR and point the lens away from myself and towards the incredible spring flowers bursting open at the heather gardens at Ft. Tryon Park. It's a spectacular sight every year and people travel up to the northern reaches of Manhattan just to catch a glimpse. Lucky for me I live but a few blocks away.

It's also been a while since I played over at Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday, so here goes...

{sooc!}

I think the last two are my favorite. I realized how out of practice I am with my big-girl camera and textures. I'll have to try to remember to do it a little more often so I don't completely forget how! Hope you are all having a great week so far.

{OK, not actually linking up today because Kim decided to cancel the linky party this week. Oh well,
it's still Texture Tuesday over here at Urban Muser}

gorgeous! love the last one. i feel the opposite - my phone is usually MIA, so i never take photos with it. yesterday i took the iphone for a spin and was completely at sea trying to look at a screen instead of through a viewfinder! haha! but it was super awesome to have a lightweight cell instead of my clunky D300s.

Spring colors are so cheerful-you've captured them well. Glad you dug out the DSLR. You make it work. My fave is the first one. Happy day Christy.

You don't appear to have forgotten anything to me but then raw talent rarely needs reminding.
Lovely textures and subjects :)

So pretty! I adore all the photos and I think you did a great job with the textures. I'm not sure what those little purple flowers are (3rd photo) but I think we have the same kind growing wild in the mountains here. They are so delicate and beautiful. Man, there's nothing like Spring! New life everywhere, full of hope...Love It!!! :)

Beautiful, U.M!
Really, really makes me want to head over to the botanical garden! If I can just talk myself into actually leaving the apartment, that is.

They are all stunning but for me the last shot is super special; so much clarity and texture in the petals - just gorgeous!
