{in the picture} big world, tiny you

Welcome back to {in the picture} everyone! I really enjoyed last month's theme and loved seeing all of you "shake it out", but we're moving on to something different (and maybe a little easier) today. Our theme for the month of May is "big world, tiny you".

Self-portraits don't always have to be close-up. You can still be the subject of your photo without dominating the entire frame. If you find a beautiful background, landscape or open space try a distant or wide angle shot and subtly insert yourself somewhere in the scene.

i'm like a bird

You can still say a lot about yourself even though your viewer can't see every detail of your face or your body. Take this opportunity to share a little bit about where you live, a location you are traveling, or a favorite place of yours. Use it as a backdrop and find a place for yourself somewhere in the frame.

I don't know about you, but I've been taking an awful lot of my selfies indoors this year so I am excited to get out there and experiment. So go on...head outside, start scouting out that perfect location, and show us a little you in the world! (and remember, our themes here are optional, so if something else is inspiring you this month, do share!)

I'll be seeing you back here soon--I've got a great selfie photographer interview lined up for 5/18 and our linky party will begin on 5/25.
See you then!

What a lovely new theme! I love the two of you above! I especially like the tree shot and the beach shot is very original, the sepia finish is great!

great theme and LOVE that first photo. and yes, i agree about taking some outdoor selfies. it's been the wettest month in 100 years here in England and I am ready to get out.of.this.house - for selfies and live itself! haha!

I like this idea. I'm stuck in a selfie rut. I have a lot of wonderful landscapes around me, just don't know if my timer lasts long enough to get "in the picture" and include the landscape too. Something to work on. Hope all is well Christy.

Beautiful pictures! LOVE the first one. I will admit, last months theme had me frozen. . . I'm hoping this one will bring a thaw. I think it's a great theme. Thank you!

I totally missed out on last month. It has just been too crazy busy around my little neck of the woods. I feel like I really did miss out too! Not going to beat myself up about it, but I won't be missing this one! Looks like fun. :)

I'm lucky to live in a fabulous part of the world, and to have a beautiful garden. No problems here for me... a great challenge!

What a great theme. I am already inspired by your shots - the beach one is perfect with the seagull in flight. Should be fun.

How 'tiny' are we talking here, U.M... can it be like, say, a satellite's eye view?

Now this is something I can handle. Since I'm always out and about, this assignment should be easy. Yeah, right!
