the golden hour, sort of

It's week 52 over at 52 Photos Project and our prompt was "the golden hour". My schedule didn't allow me to quite catch the real golden hour either in the morning or the evening so I kind of cheated yesterday with these slightly-post-golden-hour photos.

I rarely get over the the east side of Manhattan but after a doctor's appointment yesterday I lingered a bit near the East River at this quiet little spot on Sutton Place. Amazing views up and down the river and the Queensboro Bridge (aka 59th Street Bridge and now Ed Koch Bridge) was gorgeous against the early morning sun.

Even the view looking down made me smile. It was quite windy and these flower petals were dancing at my feet...

Bella over at 52PP is starting fresh with 52 new prompts next week so if you are interested you should check it out!

Great "golden" shots! The first one is my fave -- the color and lines are terrific.

Love that second shot - what lens did you use for it? also love the last shot. especially since it is a gray, rainy day and I'd love to feel my flip flopped feet buried in flowers...instead of heavy boots in squishy mud!

In this past year that I've been following you on your adventures throughout the city, I've enjoyed all your photos. I'm a city girl too so the urban landscape speaks to my soul. Thanks for playing such a huge part of my life.

These are stunning! The perfect blue sky, lovely glimpses of the bridges, heavenly.

Love these. Golden hour is the best, but often too difficult to get out at that time-especially when having to connect with other's schedules. I like that one with the sunflare thru the bridge-and that must have been close to golden time.
