Well, just in case you are thinking of taking a break or giving up, I have a message for you..."keep going". Maybe you haven't stayed exactly on course with the number of selfies you planned to take, or life has started getting in the way. I say it's not too late to pick up and get back on track...we've still got 10 more months together. I remember during my first year-long self-portrait project it took at least 5 months before things really started kicking in for me. If you are feeling unsure I hope you'll stick it out.
Many of you really got creative with this month's optional theme--"write on". I had such a good time perusing all of your messages of hope, courage and love in our flickr pool. As always, it was hard to pick just 9 images to feature here on the blog today, but here goes...please remember to click on the links beneath the mosaic to visit these lovely ladies on flickr.
1. I am good enough!, 2. occupylove, 3. Day 138/365, Selfie 8, 4. just one of those days., 5. you hold, 6. self portrait #10, 7. love, 8. Untitled, 9. Hard Times
I'm not going to waste any more time, let's get right to this month's linky party. As a reminder...here are our linky rules:
- If you are new here, you can get caught up on this page. It's not too late to join!
- There will be a link up here on the last Friday of every month, and the linky tool will remain open to your submissions until the following Thursday.
- Please link back to the permalink for your {In The Picture} blog post or flickr image, not just the general url for your blog or flickr stream.
- Linked entries must be to a blog post or flickr image of your recent self-portraits, not just any old photo. Your photo does not have to relate to the optional monthly theme, but it does need to be a self-portrait. Links will be moderated and removed if they do not comply with this rule, sorry :)
- Please do link back here to my blog either through a text link, or with my button found below to help encourage others to participate and add to our group.
- And most importantly, be the encouragement you hope to receive and help build our self-portrait community! Please try to visit a few of the links of your fellow {In The Picture} participants and leave a nice comment--it only takes a few minutes and you may be inspired by what you see.
Well, that's it...now get linking everyone! We had almost 100 people last month--let's see if we can get close to that again. I'll see you back here on Friday, 3/2, for our March theme announcement, and in the meantime, keep showing us your stuff in the flickr pool.

I really love your snow photo. Especially as it is 35 deg C here in Australia! Thank you for giving us inspiration & motivation to capture our self. The collage of images looks great too.
Thanks so much for this, you're so encouraging. I'm having such fun! Love your shot.
Love that snow shot and all those shots in the mosaic. I am heeding your words....this month has been a bit more of a struggle but I'm going to keep going...Thank you for the inspiration.
Great picks! Off to look ;)
Thank you for putting this project together. I only got 3 pictures this past month, and they aren't what I had planned/wanted to do. BUT there's another month dawning so I'll work on it in March :-) I love looking through the flickr group for inspiration. This group of ladies is full of talent!
I just can't thank you enough for the inspiration you've given us. Already, I feel this project is life changing. I never would have guessed. . .
What a beautiful photo today!
congratulations with your initiative and with the impact it apparently had on so many! well done!
Definitely easier this month! :)
Hi!
Great shot! Love the snow and dog. Have a great day!

Food for Thought
Wow your shot is wonderful. I love the motion in it and sense of alone-ness is self-challenge.
I'm glad you had the thought for this year long selfie thing. I've put no restrictions on myself-no numbers, no nothing-and by taking that weight off, it's all just fun. Appreciate your work on this to make it a fun ride.
We've got some very beautiful sites in this project, can't wait to see what everyone comes up with the rest of the year! :D
These are all so intriguing!
Wow, that shot is wonderful - that's what I want to "get to" with my selfies.
Yup, we just need to "keep going".
Thank you for leading this inspiring project.
I'm enjoying this!! Great to see how creative people can be.
I´ve been very busy lately so started late this month to take selfportraits, with no idea in mind instead of planning them to illustrate a phrase or quote... but as I started to play with words, they became more and more meaningful... thanks a lot! it has been a wonderful exercise
Love you photo! Looks like fun. :)
great theme for this month, christy! the instant you announced it, i knew exactly what i wanted to do with it. and the idea sat in my head for weeks... until today when i was reminded that it's already the end of the month! so i quickly got the shots i wanted while the little one was napping... my only opportunity. =)
i love the nine images you chose to feature... a great collage! and your image is stunning! looking forward to what's in store for march!
Wow. These are all so great I don't even want to post mine now, but I will only because YOU are so inspiring. I love this project so much.
You are so brave in your pictures. I am still trying to get accustomed to the idea of taking pictures of myself - and have yet to venture outside of my house to do so. I love that you are able to do that with such apparent ease!
Your image is perfect for the message you want to inspire us with... keep going, indeed. It's tough going from behind the China Firewall, both posting images and visiting others to leave comments (most social media sites are blocked)... as well as mustering inspiration to shoot selfies in a gray space... but I'll keep at it. Thanks for hosting this challenge and being so suportive. :-)
One more thing. . . thank you for your kind (and encouraging words) on my blog. It's like having a cheerleader that I've never met.
Thank you, again, for this project.
loving your selfie. there is a romantic air to it. and, despite you running through the snow in a dress, there's something quite real and practical about it...
Wow all that snow makes me feel like I'm freezing! :O
Love that snow shot and the mosaic is beautiful! Thanks for your message and being so encouraging. And you're always so inspiring.
Love your piece, U.M...
and many wonderful entries, too
(always a good reason to make tracks over here)!
Hi Christy,
Looks like your group is having a wonderful time with the selfies! Great winter capture - the scale of you vs nature, the values, quiet color, and design with the curving stone wall - all super!
It only took two months to get over here, but please know you all keep me inspired. I'm sure we are all reluctant to put ourselves out there much of the time, but looking at the way others reveal themselves through images really spurs me on, gives me ideas and opens my heart. It's a lovely and intimate connection across the miles. I'm happy to feel I'm part of it.
Glad you stopped by -- it reminded me to post to your link up. :)
This has been so much fun! But I guess my timing is all off... I need a vacation... I thought today was the link day!!!! Oh well ... time to head south!!! Next month!
I keep missing the linky parties :(, but I'm loving all the Flickr photos. Wow, such talent playing here!
Stay inspired!
