The year is off to a good start, although it is finally cold here in the northeast. I mean, really C-O-L-D. Today at 52 Photos Project we are sharing a photo from "day 1" of the new year.

I snapped this shadow portrait of myself on the way out to the grocery store on New Year's Day. Taken with Hipstamatic on the iPhone, I used the chunky "lens" and AO BW "film".

I hope your year is off to a fabulous beginning! It's not too late to join {In The Picture}--my community self-portrait journey for 2012. The flickr pool is starting to see some action, and the first post will go up here on the blog on Friday 1/6.

I love this, really love this! I like how your fingers somewhat mirror the lines of the fence. One of my favorite places to take pics of my shadow is on the beach close to sunset, makes me feel really tall! LOL

I've had Hipstamatic for awhile, but just recently began playing with it. Truly addicting!!

Thank you so very much for sharing with us at The Creative Exchange this week.

Have a great day!

This shadow shot has an eerie quality about it. Very cool to go with your COLD weather. Cold here in Maine too.

Great shadow shot. I think I'll give this a try although I'm not a big one for pictures of me!

I love the juxtaposition between fingers and fence. As Susan said, there's something eerie about this shot. It was brave of you to take your gloves off for the photo!

I've got to get an iPhone.
And your sense of style.
Too cool!

Great shadow! I love the chunky lens with Black Keys SuperGrain, too! Will have to try the AO BW Film!
