celebrate autumn

"How silently they tumble down, and come to rest upon the ground.
To lay a carpet, rich and rare, beneath the trees without a care,
content to sleep, their work well done, colors gleaming in the sun.

At other times, they wildly fly, until they nearly reach the sky.
Twisting, turning through the air, till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below, to wait, like children, for the snow."
~ Elsie N. Brady

I'm celebrating autumn over at Mortal Muses today. I hope you will join me over there. And I am playing over at Texture Tuesday on Kim Klassen's lovely blog--this photo below was processed using Kim's "sienna" texture.

Oh, and the prompt at 52 Photos Project last week was "something borrowed". In these photos above I am wearing something that I borrowed from someone...I'll leave it at that ;)

Fun! :) Love the quote, esp. "Exhausted, drop to earth below, to wait, like children, for the snow."

So beautiful! My neighbor and I were discussing the state of our leaves yesterday - we can't figure out why they are still on the trees and yet we have snow on the ground. I think it just means I won't have to rake this year.

great pics of you "frolicking" in the leaves so envious as here in Paris they madly sweep and blow the leaves as soon as they leave tree!! (well almost) takes away the fun as no crunching under the boots and kicking leaves as you walk etc.
Loads of emotion and fun captured in this shoot.

You got me intrigued by the way when you are" just going to leave it at that" ;)

Alas, I believe fall is leaving what feels like too soon. Here, it's quite cold today...I suppose it could be 80 tomorrow though! Hope all is good with you.
