Who doesn't love a good sunrise? When we were at the beach last week I made a point of getting up early one morning to catch the glorious sun rising up at the start of the new day. I talk about doing this all the time but then when the alarm goes off, well...you know...it doesn't happen. But this time it did. I even got Hub and Willow to join me. The sky took on these beautiful reddish orange tones. It was such a beautiful sight!
It was totally worth the loss of sleep--there were lots of clouds to reflect the light which made for some interesting photos, even in black and white.
And the fabulous Hub complied when I asked him to do a jump silhouette for me.
We got this on the first try!
The theme at 52 Photos Project this week is "red"--I am calling these "reddish" and hope it's not cheating too much :)

I have to chuckle cause I do the same thing ... want to get that sunrise, set the alarm ... and then change my mind. Ugh! Been trying to get hubby, who's always up at the hour, to do the clicks. He so far is not cooperating. His trick to get me out of bed!
Great shots and love the silhoutte!
Love it! I know, the bed just feels so good. LOL
And yes, this was worth it! Gorgeous.
Oh.. So very worth it. These are fabulous. Colors, clouds,beach... All beautiful.
Wow, what beautiful shots. I would have never thought of making a sunset black and white, but it's amazing! I'm sure you are so happy you forced yourself out of bed! Love the jumping silhouette, so cute!
Fantastic. It was totally worth it to get up early. It does provide also, the perfect excuse of a nap.
I love the jump silhouette-wonder if Willow would have helped too.
These photographs are beautiful!

These are amazing shots, Christy. So glad you decided to get up early! :)
Your sunrise shots are breathtaking!! Such a glorious red you've captured!! I don't think I've ever seen a sunrise in B/W it's amazing!!
All that energy first thing in the morning for the joyous sunrise!
Fantastic!
It's sometimes hard to get out of bed at sunrise, but definitely worth it every now & then. Beautiful photos.
Oh wow, this looks so awesome. I wanna go there too.
I do not think it is cheating .. especially since you added -ish
the sea and the sunrise/sundown are dear friends of me also
hence I love these pics
Fabulous work and I love the one with your husband jumping!! One great thing about the east coast is that the sunrise is over the ocean here on the west coast we have some great sunsets but it is more difficult to find a cool place to watch a sunrise.
Awesome!.. Really, I think that is all there is to say about it. What a perfect morning. And... Hubs must have been on the Cheer Squad in his college days - check out that air!
Gorgeous shots! I would have gotten up early for these, too! Great jump by your hubby :)
Oh, wonderful set of sunrise photos.
I love your husband's silhouette against the sky!
Beautiful photographs! I think it is red-ish, you'll be fine :)
These are amazing. What a stunning sky. Great job.
Breathtaking!
Seriously... dreamy!!
How did I manage to miss this post(yikes)?!
What a sky! Spectacular!
Beautiful...does look worth an early wake-up. Red was the ACoLab theme...must be something in the air ;)
Beautiful shots Christy!
Everytime I see a beautiful sunrise photo like this I think I should get up earlier:)
Totally amazing sunrise. The hub's photo is so fun!
I've never seen the sun rise over an ocean, only the sun setting. There are similarities. The b/w one is majestic. Sometimes I wish I still had a film camera.
wow, this is amazing!!!
Wow, these are beyond stunning! I think that early rising is not the greatest treat, but it certainly proved worth it for you :)
WOOOOh! It sure paid off to wake up early. THEY ARE AWESOME. I would be jumping in the air if I got shots like these. CONGRATULATIONS- they are something else!!
