It's no secret that I've been struggling with this new venture. The Impossible Film--although wonderful--is rather finicky. Depending on light and temperature you never know what you are going to get. It's a slow road of one step forward, two steps back. Yesterday I got this shot of the Flatiron Building--it's good, but still not where I am hoping to be.

This morning, the Hub, Willow and I went for an early morning walk and I brought along the Spectra and the Fuji {as well as my DSLR and my iPhone!}. The goal was to get out there before the temperatures got too warm because that's what really causes that orangey tint to the photos. I got this shot of the Little Red Lighthouse under the GWB. Again, OK, but not great. Breathe deeply :) it will come eventually.

Then we had some fun with the little Fuji camera. The film is a lot less unstable and we were able to get a few fun shots. These photos are small--like the size of a business card.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I'll be out practicing some more!

As always when I look at your pictures, whatever instrument they are taken with, I think the are just marvelous.
The flatiron building looks even more attractive like this than in reality. I have driven over the gwb but never, at least not that I remember, have I seen this red light house..
great business cards also !!
I'll take your 'ok' shots any day, U.M... these are really, really nice! And I've always had a bit of a thing for architecture, so...
On second thought, I'd take your 'bad' shots any day... wow!
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! I was out on the beach with my Fuji Instax Wide yesterday. I'll have to go shoot some more in honor of the day! I think the shot of the Flatiron Building is excellent!
So, do you have to scan these to get them on your blog? How difficult is it to get the film?
I love these photos. Such a nostalgic feel to them.
It will come, you are right. Can't wait to see too! I love the lines in that bridge photo. Have a happy weekend!
darn straight! that picture of the flatiron rocks! loving it! makes me miss NYC.
sweet blog!
love all these. such a big fan of those roids!
I love that shot of the Flat Iron building! I think the charm of instant film is the fact that you can never be quite sure how it will turn out Looks like you are really up to that challenge:)
The bridge is my favorite shot. Love the perspective. Have fun with your new cameras. You're doing great!
loving that first photo!!
i so want an sx70. i'm starting to think i'll never have one, but i'm still holding out hope! in the mean time, i have to make fake polaroids out of my digital images with photoshop actions. {it's just not the same.}
some day...
i've never heard of this celebration day but i like it. and i LOVE your photos.
I really like the one of the flatiron.
And the fuji ones are really cute. Almost like photobooth pictures. Kind of a cute effect.
i remember my parents had one of this... lovely images!
love the doggie shot, with his ears up, really cute. haven't used a polaroid in about 30 years! Now that I have digital SLR I can't imagine going back to film, either! So glad you got one of my postcards in the Liberate Your Art Swap! some people didn't put their web address on their cards so I couldn't figure out how to contact them.
absolutely gorgeous! i so want to shoot that top building, one day.
