At the 52 Photos Project this week, we were asked "what's outside the window?" and we had to shoot from the inside out of any window. I decided to take a few snaps with my iPhone at work the other day. I am a consultant so this isn't my regular office, but it is my work home in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn several days a week for the next few months.
As I pressed the shutter I didn't realize how prominently the window screens would show up in the photos. The screen (and the dirt on the first one above!) add an unexpected layer of texture that I love.

These next two images are from my archive but I thought I would throw them in. They were taken out of the office windows of my last gig in downtown Manhattan. Lovely views of the courthouse (think: Law & Order) and uptown towards the Empire State Building. I miss working there and having the chance to see this everyday.

Is there anything outside your window? Maybe something you never thought to photograph before? Take a moment today to enjoy your view.

These are all so gorgeous!
Screen texture, that's a new one! Maybe you could market that app :) The first and third shots are my favorites. Wonderful graphic design arrangement of values in the third capture!!!

I actually LOVE this effect! Really cool shots!
I love the screen shots - so different.
That screen effect is great. Having prompts and challeges really does help to think a little differently. It is always so interesting to see how many different intrepretions there are. Love your photos.
Great snaps....I like them all. The screens make an interesting effect. think I might jump on this meme. I agree having a prompt leads to shooting things I might ignore. thanks for pointing the way.
Creative shots. Screen is a nice touch.
Awesome! I want that second one...you keep throwing new favorites at me! although i still love those first two from your last phonography this window screen shot is so cool. I do love when something makes me shoot something or stumble across something i never would have. way to have your eye on the prize!
Great views, love the screen. I wouldn't be able to concentrate with those great views. Lucky you.
Interesting shots. I love seeing cityscapes, since I live out in the sticks. Great work.
Oh... too nice, U.M.

Love the first and third shots. The dirt on the screen almost gives it a look of birds in the sky.
Love the textural play between the clouds and the screen, and the black & white gives the composition a really antique-yet-modern feeling.
I really love the screen in your pictures. It's totally cool. I also love the shots of New York thru the window. You are so lucky.
I like th escreen too! Lovely views!
I am loving your pictures. The screen adds so much to these pictures.

wow, you have a great view from your window, great pics to capture it!
I agree with so many comments - the screens are a really effective 'thing' in the photographs - providing texture and juxtaposition to the outside scene.
