skyline memories

I grew up just outside of New York City.  My father worked there and my mother used to take me into the city often for shopping trips and Broadway shows.  I was always thrilled by the sight of the skyline getting bigger and bigger as our car rushed along the highway towards the towering structures.

Skyline

I don't get to see the majestic skyline very often anymore because I live here, tucked away deep down inside the urban jungle.  I was in Brooklyn yesterday and snapped this with my iPhone.  I never tire of its beauty, and it brought back those memories of anticipation, excitement and wonder from when I was a child.

Linking up to 52 Photos Project today for the memory prompt...and iphoneography at Perfect Imperfections.

Just my opinion, but there is no city quite as beautiful and as exciting as New York.

I just saw your comment after I came back from your blog, which I found through Deb's blog. Funny. I was drawn to your title "Urban Muser", because I love big cities. The energy in New York is very special. My first time in New York is by now over 15 years ago. I still remember how after my first day in the city I laid in bed with my body buzzing and vibrating from the intensity of the city. I have come back several times since.
Your skyline picture and words are beautiful.
Love from Eva
