Sunday Shadows and Updates

Happy Sunday everyone.  I thought I should give you an update on Willow's progress since you all have been so wonderfully supportive over the past several weeks.  She is doing much better--she is walking completely on her own again, is eating, drinking, sleeping...all the things a doggie should do!  We got news from the surgeon that the mass in her spleen was not a tumor after all but a huge hematoma (huh?)  Of course this is still not good, but at least it was not a malignant tumor!  Look how excited she is to hear that news...

{iPhone, Infinicam}

So, where does that leave us?  Well, there is still the issue of the spot they saw on her brain during the MRI.  We don't know what that is or where it will lead us.  Although Willow is walking again, she is still a bit wobbly and unsure of her steps--this could be caused by what's going on in her cute little brain or it could be a side-effect of her anti-seizure medication.  We are going to the vet for suture removal and a check-up tomorrow but I don't expect they'll be able to predict much.  In the meantime, we are still just enjoying every day we have with her--spending many of them in the park across the street from our apartment.  If you want to see a silly picture of Willow's big ear while she is sleeping, you should check out my post at Mortal Muses here.

One final note today.  If any of you are wondering how The Cat is faring during all of this drama with Willow...she is doing well, and we are trying to make sure we give her enough love and attention.  She actually seemed to miss Willow when she was in the hospital for that week, it was pretty cute.  Anyway, The Cat is still happily chasing her own shadow around the apartment around 6pm every day, so I wouldn't worry too much about her  :)

I wonder if cats play with shadows. Does yours?

WONDERFUL NONSENSE

A shadow’s a wonderful thing;
O listen! Can you hear it sing?
It tells of a time
Before there was crime—
Trust that and you’ll trust anything!

Love your shots. So sorry to hear about Willow's troubles. Have they given you any idea of what may have caused the hematoma?
Wishing you the best outcome and a long time together to enjoy time in the park and other fun places.
