I love this beautiful little spot in Northern Manhattan that overlooks the Hudson River. It's called The Grecian Temple and it was built in the early 1920s as a destination for pleasure drivers on the old Riverside Drive. We stopped here for a quick photo shoot on our walk last week. With the theme being "repeating patterns" over at Mortal Muses this week, I couldn't resist all different patterns...the pillars, the stone wall, the wooden canopy, the stairs...
{iPhone; camera+}
In this photo below, you can see part of the view looking north over the Hudson River. That land along the horizon is New Jersey.
You can also see the George Washington Bridge from this same spot, but looking to the south.
I blogged some more about repeating patterns in architecture at
Mortal Muses today. I hope you will
stop over there and say hello!
And, my usual Tuesday link ups, at Pasando and Communal Global...
