Its low rents and large spaces were a destination for artists and musicians for many years, and it has really become an especially hot place to live over the past 10 years.
In recent years there has been rapid development of housing and commercial space, but like most places in New York City, as it becomes more popular the rents and prices go up, up, up.
I spotted this indoor flea market on Meeker Avenue but we didn't get a chance to go inside. I will definitely be going back to check it out though!
We ended our outing with a couple of beers at Spike Hill on Bedford Avenue, which is one of the main commercial strips full of bars, shops and restaurants.
All in all, a perfect outing!
