First, we made pork dumplings wrapped in cabbage. Not my thing, but they were fun to make.
Next she demonstrated how to make mushroom dumplings--the delicate folding action is the key to this one!
We got the hang of it pretty quickly--here is a sample of our work...
And for the finale, we made apple, honey and blue cheese dumplings...very interesting!
All in all, a fun day in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's a great neighborhood to walk around--we stopped for a drink and a good dose of people watching (and photographing) after the class. The hub seemed to enjoy his birthday, so that's a good thing!

That looks like fun. I've never made dumplings...too lazy.

Awesome. That is my kind of class. It's so great you and your husband did it together. How fun.

what a fantastic thing to do, looks so interesting AND delicious, great shots.
That is a great gift! Yes, I've made dumplings before. They're fun (although a bit time-intense), and of course, you get delicious results. The apple/blue-cheese dumplings sound very interesting!
ohmygosh! That looks like it was so much fun! I have no idea if there is anything like that in my area but if there is I am definitely going to try it! I love cooking but never know what to make so this would be great!
Can't wait to see what other adventures you go on!
This is fabulous! Dumplings are one of my favorite foods...I miss dim sum in SF very much. Yours look very tasty and well put together I may add. I love Williamsburg...never knew of the kitchen and will have to check it out the next time I visit. I love being a foodie ;)
Lovely shots by the way, great post!
This looks like it was a ton of fun. I was just saying last night that I'd like to take a cooking class. Now I'm definitely looking into it.
Yummy, yum, yum! Yes, I have helped make dumplings before. A friend of mine's son married a girl from China. They are extremely time consuming but worth every second!
Something I've never even considered trying (until now!)
Fantastic series - great DoF and selective focus in these images.
