Spring Is In The Air...

Oh! It was 65*F here in New York today.  It was like a little miracle warming my bones.  I had a few hours between meetings so I ran out with my camera to capture this unusually spring-like February day.  I was shooting primarily in black & white, but every once in a while a colorful scene caught my eye.

On Mercer Street, this animated woman with the red shoes got my attention...

I love this woman's pink skirt.  She was also lurking on the corners trying to photograph some street scenes, and had no idea I was behind her making her my next subject!

In Chinatown, I saw this amazing pop of blue and red...

And in Tribeca, the graffiti was calling my name...

Are you starting to see signs of Spring where you live?

I don't see any snow on the ground there anymore! It was nice and warm here today but there is still a foot of snow to melt....

I thought we had some Spring weather two weeks ago but now we're definitely back in February with a flutter of snow on my way to work and an incredibly cold wind (which I'm told is from Siberia and who am I to disagree?!). Great street-scenes, especially like the Chinatown image, the rollerdoor would make a great backdrop for a more styled photography shoot too.

Like this series a lot and yes I do see signs (taking hayfever tablets)!

I'm living through your spring! I had to shovel 8 new inches of the white stuff yesterday, so that glimpse of spring I saw over the weekend has disappeared.

Super Cool photos....brilliant!! It looks like spring over here in Scotland when you look outside the window and the sun is shinning and you see blue sky - until you step outside and the arctic wind just about cuts you in two!! :)

Wasn't the weather yesterday out of this world! I just savored every minute of the day. These pictures are gorgeous! Love street photography! : )

Thanks for your nice comment for Rachel! I get so nervous each week that the interviewees won't get enough comments and will feel badly! I never want them to feel anything less than spectacular!

I love EVERYTHING about these shots! I know I say it everytime I visit, but I LOVE the city! *sigh* We're heading to S. Florida next month, and while it's no NYC, I can't wait to take some urban shots there. (And your b&w dog shot in your most recent post - LOVE it!)
