On my way to work this morning I saw this cute little snow girl outside my apartment...
There is still a lot of snow here from the blizzard earlier in the week so there are quite a few snow people hanging around the neighborhood.
And then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw this sad guy in the park across the street so I had to approach for a closer look...
Seriously? What ever happened to the traditional corn cob pipe, top hat and a button nose? His little stick arms are even up in the air, as if he's pleading for mercy. I ask you, where is the humanity?
I still love my city, but I have to say this one goes in my "only in New York" file.
Please remember to visit Mortal Muses today where I am sure you will find photos and descriptions of many lovely traditions that have not been disgraced like poor Frosty.

I don't know if it's because I'm a life long New Yorker or the fact that I have two teenage boys and they've warped me but I thought this was hilarious.
Oh my. Poor Frosty.
ha, you don't want to know what sand people ending up looking like here on the beach... shameful! hope you had a wonderful holiday, happy new year!
Well, that's pretty sad, but given our violent culture, not surprising. Have a happy, peaceful New Year!
oh man, that is so sad!! nothing like when we were kids!
Man that's a lot of snow! Looks like that snowman was in the wrong place at the wrong time!
Poor Frosty, but I think I agree with Susie and this somehow appeals to my slightly twisted sense of humour (and I don't even have any teenage boys to blame).
Truly sad that someone would do such a thing.
My teenager made a snowman this week. I looked out when she was finished. It had on beads, a bikini top with shorts and wine bottles all around it. There is a sign in front of it that says "Mardi Gra or Bust". Should I be worried?
Maybe therapists should start analyzing these?!
oh that poor snowman, how awful, wow that's bad but great street shots you have got here.
Forget the poor snowman, that is alot of snow! Although the frosty things is little disturbing!
Well that's definitely a NYC snow man.
It reminds me of when Bruce and I were at the playground in the BX with Georgia. These kids were playing, with lots of yelling and wrestling, and when we finally tuned into what they were doing, we noticed that they were pretending to shoot one another, and then all the kids would go through the "dead" guy's pockets to grab whatever loot they could. OY.
Somebody mugged Frosty, oh no! I'm sorry I laughed Frosty!
