This week's challenge at
I Should Be Folding Laundry is "signs". There are so many signs around us all the time...it was fun to take some time to focus on them with my camera. Where I live, it seems you can't escape signs everywhere telling you what to do, what NOT to do, where to go. It's endless. Here are a few...
They also tell you where to eat and what to eat:
And, I just have to throw in this old one from Vietnam. I don't know what it says, but the little skull-like icon is pretty universal...it says it all.

I love NY and looking at these photos just make me remember all the great places I love to go to when I am over, haven't been in a while and I know we are have withdrawal symptoms....(wish the exchange rate was better though)
These are all great signs - I especially love the ones taken with your camera phone. You should link up to the phontography challenge. Have a great day!
Love your signs...especially that third one!
Why can't you feed the pigeons??
To answer Pam's question in case anyone is interested---feeding pigeons means food on the ground. Food on the ground attracts mice and rats. Mice and rats are gross. I LOVE New York! :)
Great shots! I love the 3rd one. The colours are amazing.
I like the one with the bridge, and enjoyed all the different editing you played with.
Awesome, I love pictures of signs, especially ones with cool graphics or vintage charm :)
Is it bad that I have the Tesla song "Signs" running through my head as I looked at your post?
The bakery sign is the most "New York-y" sign in your post for me. I like it a lot.
So cool. You really captured the New York spirit and you provided me a nice walk down memory lane.

Very nice! It makes me want to visit New York!
love the m&m's~
So many great signs. I really like the 3rd one and the black and white deli board, but then how could I not like M&M's
Really great captures!!!!
Nice work. I'm not a city person, meaning I prefer nature, but I love all of your signs. They all have a very urban feel. Yes, some are more obviously in the big city, but I think the way you framed them and processed them differently has something to do with it, too. Very nice shots.
I'm kind of in love with your neighborhood after seeing it through your camera
Philadelphia definitely needs Don't Feed the Pidgeon signs. I know that NJ sign - to me, after a visit to NYC - that's the first leg home. Great signs.
Wow! You got so many great shots! Love the M&M's sign.
I love the "Slow" bike sign and the backdrop of it. I also liked the M & M's sign - lots of fun!
I could look at pictures of NY all day. (I also think your dog in your header photo is absolutely adorable. What a sweet face!)
Love the signs! Great photos.

Those are some great pictures of signs. It is amazing that we can find beauty is some of the most simple things. Things that see see and overlook everyday. I really like the picture with the M&Ms (the fat girl in me couldn't resist).
I miss NY! I've walked by a couple of those signs and it brought back great memories!
Love the signs! Reminds me of true city living. You definitely shouldn't feed pigeons. Learned that after getting pooped on as a child. They seem to poop right after they eat, lol!
The sign photos are awesome! Just wanted to pop over and say thanks for the Sepia Saturday invite! I'll be joining you for sure this weekend. Cheers!
I felt the same way about signs here in Chicago, and was tempted to include similar signs, but they definitely wouldn't turn out as nicely as yours! I love the effect in the Pinehurst sign picture - it really has a vintage feel.
that m&m sign is cool!
I love your photos. I grew up in this neighborhood and had my dog with me too when I moved out on my own. how cool to find you in Sundays in My City. well, I found you last week I think but these photos bring back so many fond memories. 181st street was my stop!
I love your pictures. I love the city and your pictures just bring back so many memories for me.
