Sunset In My City

I am sharing these photos as part of "Sundays In My City" over at Unknown Mami.  Technically these photos were taken on Saturday evening, but it was Sunday somewhere when I took them.

We have a little slice of a view of the Hudson River from our apartment and can see the sunset from there during certain months of the year when the sun is in just the right spot.  Sadly, as the summer winds to a close the sun is just too far south to see from our window anymore.  But just a few steps outside and across the street gives me this view of the George Washington Bridge looking towards New Jersey.

Hurricane Earl brushed past us about 125 miles off the coast on Friday night.  It didn't even rain here, but the wind last night was so strong that as I took these pictures in a crouched position it nearly blew me over.  I was having a hard time keeping the camera still.  You can see a lonely little leaf blowing by me here.

At one point it looked like New Jersey was on fire!

Where I was standing is pretty high up, so I tried to take some shots over the tree tops below me for an interesting perspective.

And of course I took a bunch of shots with my iPhone too.  I'll just share one...

{iPhone, Format126, LOFI}

Errrr, OK, two...

{iPhone, Pudding Camera, Motion x4}

What wonderful photographs, and taken with your iPhone!!! I really must try to emulate the quality you have achieved but somehow I doubt whether I will be able to.

Hi, guess what? I'm jealous of you getting to live in NYC. My brother lives there. I miss him and wish at times I lived in a big bustling city.

Thanks for stopping by.
