Shadow Shot Sunday - Risotto Style

In the summer months we are lucky to catch beautiful sunsets every night out of our kitchen and living room windows.  Our apartment is close to the Hudson River and we have a nice view as the sun sets to the west over the Palisades in New Jersey.  It often makes for some great shadows on the kitchen walls while we are cooking dinner.

Here is the Hub, adding stock to our risotto made with fresh pattypan squash and fennel from our CSA.

{iPhone, Format 126}

In addition to the ladle and the saucepan, I love the shadowy lines from our casement windows and the funky patterns the light makes as it streams through the glass.

Cast your own shadow every Sunday over at Hey Harriet.

And check out Sundays In My City to see if anyone is doing anything more interesting than cooking this Sunday in their city.

I love the effect of the glass from the window. I'm sure the risotto was wonderful. I've really been craving risotto lately.

Great shot! I think the wavy lines from the window are gorgeous, but I like how your husband's shadow isn't wavy at all.

Also, awesome that you managed to get "casement" into a blog post.

Thanks for visiting me for my first time joining in SSS! I LOVE this photo! I love the movement created by the wispy shadowy lines! Wonderful!

And that risotto sounds yummy...I'm a fan of anything with fennel!
