Shadow Shot Sunday - Table For Two

Here is my second entry for Shadow Shot Sunday.  This cute little table and chairs are in a pedestrian mall along Broadway in midtown.  Don't they make a great shadow?

I have been getting increasingly jealous of all of you, my fellow  bloggers, and the fancy editing you do with Photoshop and other programs; it really takes your photos to new levels.  All your talk of textures, actions and "recipes" is starting to get to me, in a good way.

The pictures in my posts are usually SOOC. I don't have any editing software other than Picasa which is good, but only offers really basic image-editing (and if you have been here before, you know I love my Hipstamatic app which gives some cool effects).  I decided to try Picnik today, as a step on my path towards breaking down and getting Photoshop.  So far, I think I like it...here are my editing results.

This is the original photo.

Head on over to Hey Harriet if you want to cast your own shadow. (Hey, Harriet, thanks for choosing my photo from last week to be in your "Shadow Gallery"!)

Nice job... Picnik is fun, but I love, love, love Photoshop. The only reason I got it though is because they offer a teacher edition @ a major discount... :)

I love your photos too. I have Fireworks and Photoshop, but I would never pay for them outright. They're so expensive. Luckily I get to have copies on my home computer because I use them for work...and if I just happen to use them for fun stuff, well, that's OK too, ha, ha

Oh! That's cool! I know nothing about Picnik, but I'm inspired to learn. Thanks for showing both of the photos. I honestly always wonder what shots look like SOOC.

I do love Photoshop. It is a pain in the ass sometimes, but it is a truly powerful program and it makes me happy.

Your photo is great! I love the edited version.

I love your photo and what you have done to it looks great! I have fairly recently got into using photoshop and really love it! I used the limited windows editing programme before that and it is so much more fun!

that looks fabulous, what you did to your photo! i haven't gotten into textures yet; i'm just happy i've figured out how to use curves. that made the biggest difference in the quality of my photos. but what you did makes it really tempting, the result is so great!
