Runway On Broadway?

I got to play fashion photographer for about an hour yesterday.  Well, not really, but in my mind I did.  I went to see "Sidewalk Catwalk", a public art display in the fashion district in New York City.  It will be on Broadway from Herald Square to Times Square until September 3.  It features 32 custom built mannequins that are "dressed" (and I use that word loosely) by different fashion designers.  I had so much fun yesterday photographing them, and even went so far as to fix the train on one of the dresses before I took my shot!

Here are a few of my faves.  As usual I was shutter-happy and took way more pictures than any one person should, but if you want to see more you can view them on my flickr page.

While I was taking the pictures,  an annoying song kept popping into my head, try as I might to banish it from my thoughts.  You may remember this little ditty from the early 90s.  It is a horrible song, but I recall it was actually quite popular.  Here's the video if you are in the mood for a flashback and a chuckle today.  And, if you like public art, you can check out my prior posts here and here for other displays I've recently visited in NYC.

{I am sharing this post as part of a "color" photo challenge on Simplicity.}

Cool pictures - but now I have that song stuck in my head. Sadly I know from experience once it gets in there it is going to linger for days

very cool! although, just like jamie said above, now that song is going to be stuck in my head, for which i say THANKS. :) i'll have to try to get something else stuck in its place. a little disco usually works for me. then i can imagine your models are doing the hustle.

WOW! So creative. I love the one with the felt looking heart, and the one beside it with the paper flowers. AWESOME! I would have taken WAY too many photos there too!
