I Heart Willow

{Warning, the following post is dog-photo-heavy.  If you are averse to super cute dogs, you'd best walk away from your computer now.}

I am posting a little tribute to my best girl Willow today, in honor of the fact that she came into our lives 2 years ago.  We adopted her from a rescue in Manhattan when she was about 7-ish years old.  We're not really sure how old she is or what kind of dog she is, but I can tell you that she is the sweetest, gentlest, most loving dog ever!  She was found wandering the streets of Brooklyn and we don't know anything about where she came from or how she got lost or maybe even abandoned (ugh).

Here are the photos that sealed our fate.  I saw them while trolling the interwebs looking for a dog to adopt.  They were taken at the rescue...she looks like she is saying, "please take me home".

We took her home with us 2 days later. She was so timid and skinny when we first got her. I was so happy that I cried as we walked her out of the rescue.  Seriously.

Here are some of my favorite photos of her from the past 2 years.

She loves to pose for me, especially with the wind in her ears (bottom left!).

She'll even wear hats, antlers, raincoats, pretty much anything (except boots...I will have to post that video someday).

She'll travel with us anywhere.
From New Jersey...

...to Maine.

She's a very sleepy girl and a couch monkey.

Have you had enough?  OK, here is one more...

Have a great weekend!

It just touches my heart that Willow was blessed with such a special family to live with. She could have easily been one of the dogs that never make it out of the shelter. Gosh, it just brings a tear to my eye to see her so happy. I wish more folks would welcome shelter dogs into their lives. Looks like you got a perfect one. Lucky you. She is beautiful and her eyes honestly look like they are trying to convey a message. I bet it melts your heart when she looks at you.

Bless her heart, and yours.
There is just nothing better on the face of the earth that the love of a rescue dog! Both my two are rescues, Edward was two days away from being put down when our local rescue shelter snapped him up. He had been living on the streets for quite a while. Little did he realize he'd soon have his very own blog!

Does Willow perhaps have a sibling who would like to come live with me and wear hats? She is so sweet....
