Open: The Sunday Creative

I am participating in "The Sunday Creative" and the first inspirational prompt is open.  If you have not heard about this weekly creative challenge, you can check it out on "Life Set To Words".  As with the "Creativity Boot Camp", I am using photography as my medium.

After reading the prompt on Sunday morning, I began to think about what the word open means to me.  I looked around for a good representation and waited for the moment to hit me.  Nothing came.  Later, I was sitting on the beach and as I looked out across the ocean listening to the sound of the waves hitting the shore I wanted to capture the scene. The water and the horizon just seemed to go on and on, making me think of endless possibilities and well, you know, how open life can be if you just let it.

I didn't have my camera with me so in a pinch I decided to use the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.  It gives you the option to choose different "lenses" and "films".  Here are three different versions of "open"...which one do you like the best?

I can't decide if I like the top or bottom photo better, they're both awesome!

Gorgeous! I love them all - but the 3rd one with the rich blues calls to me.

I like number three. It looks like a vintage photo that has been through a lifetime of handling and stuff. Nice!

I love my hipstamatic app! I was obsessed with it the first few days I downloaded it, but I've now put the novelty in perspective - it's neato! I like the bottom one.

How cool... this makes me wish I had an iPhone! :) I think I like the second version. It's got the retro feeling. I want to go to the beach... but it's at least 14 hours. :)

I love number one - I thought it was painted. the colours are cheerful, like open should be.
